POLLMAN'S CAN OFFER YOU A LARGE SELECTION OF SCHEDULED SAFARIS WITH FIXED DEPARTURE DAYS EACH WEEK ON A "SEAT IN VEHICLE" BASIS
These offer a good value option, particularly for singles and couples. Departures are guaranteed for just two clients, you may be sharing a vehicle with up to 5 others plus an English speaking driver / guide. Everyone has a comfortable window seat in the special safari minibus.

CUSTOM SAFARIS
Any safari itinerary can be taken with an exclusive vehicle. A custom safari for two clients is significantly more expensive per person than a seat on a similar small group safari. However, on a custom safari with an exclusive vehicle, the cost of the vehicle and driver/ guide are divided by the number of clients sharing the vehicle. Therefore, the per person cost of a custom safari reduces the more clients that are sharing the vehicle (maximum in one vehicle is 7).

If you do have an exclusive vehicle for your safari then the timing and itinerary becomes completely flexible, within logistical constraints. You will be free to change the start and finish days and times, the places visited and the order in which you visit them to suit your individual preferences and interests.

You can also choose to use any of the available accommodation, including permanent tented camps, in each location.

When you are on safari you can ask your driver/guide to look out specifically for the things you want to see, and take as long looking or photographing them as you want, within your overall timetable.
FLYING SAFARIS
 For clients who are short of time or simply want to avoid the long road transfers to parks we can provide flying safaris to several single parks or combinations of parks. These safaris use the top permanent tented camps and lodges, and the camp or lodge transport will collect you at the airstrips and provide your game drives and other excursions for the duration of your stay.
SAFARI AND BEACH
We can offer a visit to the Mombasa beach as an extension to any safari, and it does not take much longer or cost more to get to the fascinating island of Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania.  
KENYA and TANZANIA COMBINATIONS
With frequent inexpensive shuttle bus connections between Nairobi and Arusha and daily flights available it is easy to see something of both Kenya and Northern Tanzania in the same itinerary. Since there is a much greater selection of flights into Nairobi airport than into Kilimanjaro airport in Northern Tanzania - and often at lower prices- these combination safaris have become increasingly popular.

2007/8 BOOKINGS
The recent high level of business in East Africa has continued, with heavy bookings and little remaining availability for the summer and autumn months.
We will still try to assist clients where possible, and it is helpful if they have some flexibility in their dates and itinerary choices.
The position is easier in November and early December, and there is some availability around Christmas/ New Year. However international flights are always heavily booked around the holiday period, so a priority for clients planning a trip at this time is to check flight availability.
Bookings for the peak winter months of January and February 2008 are now arriving, and clients should book as early as possible to get the itinerary they require at this popular time of the year.

2007/8 ITINERARIES
The selection of itineraries offered for this and next year is essentially similar.
However, there are new safaris available, some have been modified, and a few of the old itineraries will be no longer available.

As previously, any itinerary can be provided on a custom basis, which gives clients flexibility of start date, routing and accommodation, subject to availability, as well as an exclusive vehicle and personal driver/ guide.

The cost per person of custom safaris is calculated according to the contents of the itinerary, and reduces with the number of clients sharing the vehicle (maximum seven).



2007 / 2008 RATES
Due to various factors including higher lodge and camp charges, increased park fees, the effects of the oil price on transportation costs and the weakness of the US$, rates are increasing for 2008, with effect from 15th December.
However, many lodges and camps have now renovated and improved their standards, and there are a number of new properties available.



SAFARI VEHICLES
Pollmans Tours has purchased some specially converted 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers with 7 window seats for clients and raising roof hatches. These vehicles are used on some “seat in vehicles” itineraries, where specified, and may be used on custom safaris, at a supplementary cost. The bulk of the Pollmans fleet comprises Nissan safari converted minibuses with 7 passenger seats and raising roof hatch.



SEASONS
One effect of the high demand recently has been to spread bookings out over the entire year, and the months that were once quiet, are now much busier.
The low season in Kenya is still April, May and June
