With a fascinating history dating back to 200 AD, Mombasa is the largest port in East Africa. Your day takes you down an intriguing maze of cobbled streets, past overhanging balconies and through mysterious doorways to bustling markets filled with exotic spice, fruit and colourful fabri. Visit the Akamba wood carvers and enjoy lunch on the Tamarind Dhow. In the late afternoon visit Haller Park, a former quarry now reforested and stocked with animals. A great oppurtunity to purchase some of the wonderful crafts and other souveniers of your stay in Africa.

This trip offers an oppurtunity to enjoy the unspoilt Kenya Coast, the beautiful vistas over turquoise seas, the ecologically remarkable mangrove islands and an experience amongst the local Shirazi people. Transfer to Bodo beach where the crew of the Arabian Dhow will take you on a cruise through Funzi Creek. After lunch, proceed in canoes to the nearby Ramisi River to explore the numerous species of mangroves. Return transfer to your resort.

About an hour's drive from Mombasa, Shimba is covered by beautiful forest foliage and feels cooler than the coast. Your afternoon game drive may include sightings of elephant, buffalo and giraffe and if you're lucky, the rare Sable Antelope. Afterwards, spend the evening relaxing in the romance of the lodge. Depart next day after breakfast and return to your hotel or resort.

Departing in the morning by dhow, the trip allows its guests to snorkel the coral reefs, relax and soak up the sunshine. Welcome onboard by traditionally dressed crew & captain serving a non alcoholic fresh fruit, cocktail. Dolphin spotting, sailing & snorkelling/diving in either order, depending on tides.
Lunch is served at the Dive Base Restaurant. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy relaxing around the lazy lagoon pool, hewn from nature; or visit the island community project run by the local women of the island & explore deep into the mangroves, returning to your hotel in the evening.

Depart by traditional dhow as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean. From the Old Dhow Harbour a short guided walk brings you through the Old Town to Fort Jesus, built by the Portugese in 1953. Here a vibrant evening includes excellent cuisine and the re-enactment of East Africa's turbulent history in an extravagant show.
After the show, you are escorted to a spectacular dinner served in the fort. With torches to light the surroundings under a moonlit sky, the night air is filled with the call to prayer from nearby mosques. A delicious dinner is served. Transfers are provided to and from local hotels and resorts.
